It is no secret that Adam Tyson is one of the all time greatest filmmakers of all time. Having made 8 films and counting. Adam Tyson has came from the North East and took the world by storm. Today we look at our personal four favorite Adam Tyson films (Spoilers ahead)
This Northern Life of Ours- Adams first full length film, This Northern Life of Ours stars Mr Tyson and his frequent collaborator Callum Hemmings star as Tim and Jim respectively, two young filmmakers in Sunderland in the Conservative, Austerity ravaged city. Jim writes films while Tim makes them, however, they get the opportunity to enter the BFI film festival, allowing them to escape there current lives. With stand out performances and nominated for the Palme d or at Cannes, This Northern Life of Ours is Adams first and one of his best attempts.
Never Change- Great Filmmakers have almost always made a war film. Spielberg has Saving Private Ryan, Schindler's List, etc. Nolan had Dunkirk. Even Tarantino had one with Inglorious Bastards, its only right that Tyson made Never Change. The Film is about an elderly man named Chris (Tyson) who remembers Vietnam and his friend, John (Callum Hemmings) who's Grandfather lost an arm in WW1 and his father lost his leg in WW2. After John loses an eye in Vietnam, the film moves on to see Johns son lose his life in the Gulf War. The film explores all these wars and questions whether these wars have made any difference. Nominated for 10 academy awards and winning 2 (Best Screenplay and Best Cinematography) Never Change is a film that approaches a topic that few bother trying, the futility of war.
Fulfillment- After a group of teens survive a car crash, there world suddenly changes. Everything becomes... better. However, as a mysterious man named "The Spectre", appears, and they start disappear one by one, they must solve the mystery before its too late. The film that won Adam Tyson an Oscar for best director and 4 other Oscars, it is Tyson's most critically acclaimed film, and is today generally considered a modern classic.
The Makeup Artist- The Makeup Artist is a film about a young make up artist (Kate Hemmings) who does make up in downtown los angeles. One day, she does a celebrities make up to wide praise which sends her career skyward into the world of celebrities. However, the celebrities need for perfection and her own pursuit of perfection pushes her to the breaking point. Inspired by Black Swan, it is a mind thriller that pushes even the audience to there mental boundries
